Note: the key in the first screenshot does not work (anymore). No need to try and hack my account :)

    Hi Edwin,

    Looks interesting – One thing you should fix asap and one question.

    1) It loooks like in one of the pictures you have both your API key as well as username — if these are real values (not bogus values for screenshot) you should probably delete this API key asap as a bad guy could hack into your account with this (You may have already done this, I just wanted to point it out)

    2) Do you get a “Unique ID not unique” error from the dreamhost API? I’m getting a lot of these and while I don’t think it’s my fault no one else seems to be complaining about them…

    Hi John,

    Thanks for your response.

    Number 1: while it was a working key, that key was immediately deleted after taking the screenshot :)

    Number 2: during testing I got some, but I have not seen any for a while now. They seemed to be related to executing multiple API calls in quick succession. That also explains why I do not see them anymore, as DreamMount has to log in to all your accounts, which takes a few seconds, before you can trigger another API call.

    I’m not a mac user but your application is definitely cool!

  4. Christian says:

    I have MacFUSE v.2.1.5 (it is a beta version) and DreamMount gave me this error message:

    “MacFUSE Runtime Version Mismatch

    The MacFUSE library version this program is using is incompatible with the loaded MacFUSE kernal extension”

    Is the new 2.1.5 beta kernel incompatible or is it just a version issue? Trying a MacFUSE downgrade.

    i’m not code savvy but my brain works, sometings.

    anyone have any free time and the want to develop something like dropbox maybe call it dreambox?

  6. Hammer says:

    I love the idea but I’m getting a timeout error when trying to mount. Any ideas?

  7. Christian says:

    tried to install the version of MacFUSE that comes with DreamMount. Even though the installer told me it would install an older version than what I have DreamMount gave me the same error message.

  8. Steve says:

    Hey There,

    Just curious about how this is any different than using Apple + K to mount your file system with Apples built in networking?

    Thanks!

    Steve

  9. Ed says:

    Hi, firstly great program.

    Second, a bug report: I got a time out error and looking through the error message (superbly detailed btw.), it looks like it was caused by the machine I was on not having stored the SHH fingerprint of the ftp server. so the system was asking for confirmation of whether to proceed. Connecting with another program will cause this message to be shown in a dialouge after which it isn’t a problem. but better handling would be a bonus.

    @hammer/@Ed:

    Thanks for your bug reports. I’ve gotten some per mail as well. Ed: your diagnosis is correct.
    Fortunately this should not be too hard to fix. I’ll try and get a new version out this weekend.

    @Steve:

    It is similar, but using Apple + K you cannot mount drives over SFTP, like with DreamMount. You could use FTP, which dreamhost also supports (not dreammount), but according to the help text this will be read-only then.

    @Christian:

    I’ll have a look at it this weekend. Did you uninstall 2.1.5 first btw?

  11. pp says:

    Just gave this a try on my MBP (10.5.6) but the mounting icons don’t pop up. The mounting seems to working fine though since Little Snitch is detecting the connections.

  12. edwin says:

    @pp:

    Could you have a look at the console log (Applications -> Utilities -> Console). Anything in there that could explain what is going on?

    Also: what happens if you try to mount the same user/domain a second time?
