DreamMount release 0.2: fix for timeout errors
DreamMount is a Mac OS X application that allows you to mount DreamHost domains or users to a networked filesystem, allowing you to access it using any application.
Release 0.1 contained a bug, resulting in time-out errors to many users. Version 0.2 fixes this, so download this new version from http://www.dreammount.com/.
Stay tuned, as I will be releasing another new version in the next few days. This 0.3 version will be updated to support additional features added to the DreamHost API during the last few days.
Seems like there is a bug… all my folders that have a suffix (either .com .net .old etc) show, but any that do not (eg, for a domain for which I created a folder without a suffix) does not show.
Just thought you’d like to know…
Apart from that, it feels like an excellent option instead of using an (s)ftp alternative.
…another query… HOW does one ‘eject’ the folder from the desktop?
Jean-Michel:
Your bug will be fixed in the next version. Until yesterday, the dreamhost API had no way to get a list of domains, other than logging in to your account and do some educated guess based on directory names.
Eject: I right click on the folder and choose ‘Eject’ from the context menu.
I know you haven’t tested on Tiger, so maybe I can help… thus far I cannot get beyond “Mounting volume…”; nothing appears on the desktop.

GREAT idea! I do love where this is going. I’ve been looking for a way to more conveniently access my domains, and I have to say that this is one slick way to go about it!
1 request… HTaccess/WebDav. I would love to be able to access a password protected site/domain through here, thus having a secure place in the cloud to store my “stuff”. This way a user could access this secure site just like an external hard drive, and know that the data on it is well protected.
Great job, keep it up!
Would be great to have a way to record the API key. I don’t like having to dig it out every time I start the program. That said I like what you are doing
Keep it up…
First of all, THANK YOU! and CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I tested it yesterday, and LOVED it, its a great helper, thanks for the effort and time invested.
I have a small bug report. I mounted 2 volumes yesterday, and left it as it was overnight. Today, the mounts were gone, timeouts I assume, but it won’t let me re mount them. Says error 17 “Could not create mount point. Already mounted? Errno 17 File exists. and the path.
But the mounts are gone.
Wish list. Save email and api key.
Thanks again for a great product!
I installed the dreamMount version 0.2 on MAC Leopard. After I installed MacFuse from Google.
I created too my key. I follow this steps:
1) open the DreamMount application
2) put my e-mail
3) put my key
4) click on Retrieve users/domains button
5) have showed all domains and users
6) when I click on a domain show mountaing but doesn’t show on desktop
7) When I click on mount for second time, show me the message:
DreamMount error message
cound not create mount point. Already mounted? [Errno 17] File exists: ‘/Volumes/my-domain-myuser@server-sftp’
After all, I cannot see the volume.
What I need to do more?
Thanks a lot.
Marco
thanks a lot – i just LOVE the possibilities of this app.
Hi, thanks for the software but…
after fetching all the users and selecting which domain to mount, the error msg I get shows:
The MacFUSE library version this program is using is incompatible with the loaded MacFUSE kernel extension.
I’m using the latest macFUSE (the one that came with the DreamMount package)
What’s wrong? Any ideas?
I’m having the same issue as Brandy on Tiger. I’d love to use this if you can make it work for Tiger!
Jeremy
Sooo useful, thanks! keep on the good work.
any news on the 0.3 release?
is this still in development? i get a macfuse runtime mismatch (which seems logical since macfuse was updated for SnowLeopard)?
